Borussia Dortmund has very little money to spend as the summer transfer market enters its last two weeks. According to reports, Dortmund has only €8.5 million to spend on new recruits.

Dortmund is looking for an extra striker who plays in a similar manner to Romelu Lukaku and will compete with Haller and Youssoufa Moukoko for the striker position.

Mateta is currently the third-choice striker at Palace and can leave the club for €8m.
The 26-year-old has experience in the Bundesliga, having played 71 times for Mainz and scoring 21 times for the club during his 3-year spell.
It is evident that, despite his efforts at the start of last season while Haller was out, Dortmund does not regard Moukoko as capable of leading the line on his own.
This is reminiscent of last season, when the team signed Anthony Modeste, only for the 18-year-old to outperform the Frenchman.
Moukoko’s effectiveness waned following the World Cup, with most of his games coming off the bench until Haller returned to full fitness.
